THE RUNDOWN

The 68th-ranked Salisbury University men's tennis prepares to stride toward the national tournament at the 2026 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament at the University of Mary Washington. The semifinal round begins on Friday, May 1, as the third-seeded Sea Gulls battle the second-seeded Christopher Newport Captains at 10 a.m. at the Battleground Outdoor Complex in Fredericksburg, Va.

Gurv Suri | Singles: 10-8 | Doubles: 12-7

Nicholas O'Dea | Singles: 8-10 | Doubles: 13-6

Maas Jacobs | Singles: 5-9 | Doubles: 8-9

Bobby Stabile | Singles: 12-4 | Doubles: 14-5

Aron Bursztyn | Singles: 13-5 | Doubles: 11-8

Chase Catullo | Singles: 6-7 | Doubles: 5-12

Salisbury finished the 2026 regular season with a 9-7 record and were ranked as high as 38th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III weekly polls.
Gurv Suri played first singles in every match this season, going 10-8. He and Aron Bursztyn also had first doubles on lock all year, posting a 10-6 record as a duo. Suri was named C2C Player of the Week on Mar. 2.
Bursztyn went 13-5 in singles play this season primarily from the fifth singles slot.
Bobby Stabile enjoyed a breakout season, finshing one back of Bursztyn for the most singles wins at 12, mostly from fourth singles.
Stabile and Nicholas O'Dea went 12-4 together in second doubles for the year.
Christopher Newport posted an 11-7 record in the regular season. They enter postseason play ranked 25th nationally.
The Captains bested SU 6-1 in their regular season matchup on Apr. 25 in Newport News.
Nathan Russell played in 12 first singles matches, going 4-8.
Vincent Truong and Foster Barrett went 8-7 as a first doubles pair.
Friday's winner will take on either top-seeded Mary Washington or fourth-seeded UC Santa Cruz in the championship match on Saturday at 10 a.m, while the losers of each of Friday's fixtures will meet in the third-place match at the same time.
Salisbury is chasing its fourth-ever NCAA Tournament berth and first since 2000.
