Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Second-half surge lifts No. 4 Field Hockey over Washington College, 4-0

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The fourth-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team scored four second-half goals en route to a 4-0 road win against its Eastern Shore rival, Washington College, on Wednesday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a scoreless first half, Salisbury broke the scoreless tie in the 33rd minute. A penalty corner play led to Marli McDorman getting open in front of the cage and ripped a low shot past the keeper near side.
  • McDorman netted another tally in the 52nd minute off another penalty corner play. Mack Dinopoulos inserted the ball to McDorman at the top of the arc and the freshman sent a screamer through the WAC defense and into the cage to double up SU's lead.
  • Less than two minutes later, Dinopoulos got into the scoring column. Congestion in front of the cage after a penalty corner led to Dinopoulos redirecting an Arden Hunteman ball far post and into the cage to push the lead to three.
  • Elle Wood iced the game for the Sea Gulls on a rebound in the 55th minute after Dinopoulos' shot was initially saved by Charlotte Schurman.
