SALISBURY, Md. – A Mary Washington goal in the 60th minute was enough to sink the Salisbury University women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Eagles at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.
The Sea Gulls (5-4-7) were held without a shot in the opening half, while
Hayle Foreman stood tall with a pair of saves to keep the match scoreless.
The Eagles (7-4-3) took the first five shots of the second half with the fourth sneaking into the net. UMW's Naomi Knight sent a long ball into the box where Eliza Franklin was waiting to redirect the ball past Foreman for the score.
Salisbury tallied three shots after the goal with one landing on target, but the Eagle backline held firm to secure the win.
