NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team fell by a 4-1 final score to the third-ranked Captains of Christopher Newport University on Saturday evening in Newport News, Va.
The Sea Gulls (5-5-7) fell behind in the 25th minute when Emma Ricci found Corinne Kulik for the first goal of the afternoon. Salisbury responded just two minutes later when

Alex Jankowski's follow-up score to level the waters, 1-1.
The Captains (14-0-2) retook the lead in the 33rd minute when Molly Seventko and Alex Dalakis set Lexi Hazelgrove up for a finish, 2-1.
Hayle Foreman's seventh save of the opening period helped keep the score within one at the break.
CNU added an insurance goal in the 63rd minute when Hanna Heaton helped Reanna Slater head a shot into the onion bag, widening the margin to two, 3-1. Ricci added her second score in the 79th minute to secure the 4-1 final tally.
GAME NOTES
- Alex Jankowski netted her first goal of 2024 and the fifth of her Sea Gull career in the loss.
- Rebecca Fairbanks logged her second career assist in the match.
- Hayle Foreman was strong in goal despite the loss, tallying a career-high 12 saves across the full 90 minutes. Her total was the most for any Sea Gull net-minder since Regan Benton '21 tallied 13 saves against the Captains on Oct. 17, 2018.
