ARLINGTON, Va. – The Salisbury University women's swimming team posted over 200 points on the way to a showcase 207-51 win over the Marymount (Va.) Saints on Saturday afternoon at the Rose Bente' Lee Center.
MEET NOTES
- Mackenzie Gula earned gold medals in all four of her races for the afternoon, racking up a team-best 18 points. Gula took home individual titles in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.64) and the 100-yard butterfly (season-best 59.39).
- Sydney McCallie snagged two golds and one silver, touching first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.41) and second in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.01).
- Olivia Polucha captured gold in the 200-yard backstroke (season-best 2:14.78) and silver in the 100-yard backstroke (season-best 1:03.47) as part of her three medals on the day.
- Samantha Watson also medaled three times, taking individual gold in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.87) and silver in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:35.79).
- Jenna Krawlzik captured first place in the 100-yard freestyle (58.33) and second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:08.94).
- Salisbury took the top two positions in the 200-yard medley relay. Delaney Gibbons, Gula, Lily Griffin, and Elizabeth Perry posted a winning mark of 1:52.02.
- In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Perry, Gula, McCallie, and Rachel Rickabaugh touched up in 3:44.13, leading a trio of Sea Gull foursomes to the finish line. Gula posted the best split of the bunch (54.57).
- Salisbury managed a whopping 32 medals on the day, taking home 14 gold, 10 silver, and eight bronze.
The Sea Gulls are idle next Saturday and return to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, with a visit to New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) rival Rowan. The first event from Glassboro, N.J. is set for 12 p.m.
