GLASSBORO, N.J. – The No. 2 Salisbury University field hockey program dropped an overtime heartbreaker 2-1 against Rowan University Friday afternoon at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium.
The teams only combined for three total shots in the first half. Salisbury had two of those with only one coming on goal. Both teams created penalty corner chances in the half but could not convert. The Sea Gulls tallied four in the first half with Rowan earning two.
The defensive battle continued into the third period until the Sea Gulls scored with under a minute to go until the fourth. Off a penalty corner opportunity,

With just over 10 minutes remaining in the game, Rowan earned a penalty stroke opportunity and tied the game. Neither team could break the tie as the game headed to overtime.
Rowan was able to find the back of the goal in the 8
th minute of overtime and earn the victory.
