SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 6 Salisbury University football program earned a 42-35 Homecoming victory over Rowan University in front of a capacity crowd Saturday afternoon inside Sea Gull Stadium.
Salisbury (7-0, 4-0 NJAC) had the offense rolling early as
Ronald Clark busted a 51-yard run to get the scoring started.
On the first drive of the second quarter, Rowan (3-4, 1-2 NJAC) coughed the ball up after
Nero Schrader forced another fumble which was recovered by
Kilo Mack.
Schrader forced a fumble and blocked a punt last week.
The Sea Gull offense quickly capitalized as
SyRus McGowan found
Dario Belizaire from 18 yards out giving SU a 13-0 lead.
The Profs scored 21 points unanswered and headed into the halftime break with a 21-13 advantage. Salisbury responded in the third by outscoring Rowan 15-0 which gave them a 28-21 lead heading into the final quarter of action.
In the third quarter domination,
Michael Cox had a touchdown from one yard out for the first score. Following a
Jordan Scipio interception,
Clark busted another long run scoring from 38 yards out.
With just under 11 minutes remaining in the ball game, Salisbury added to the lead as
McGowan scored on a keeper from nine yards out giving Salisbury a 35-27 advantage.
Rowan was able to score and tie the game on a two-point conversion with three minutes remaining. The Sea Gulls put together a masterclass drive to score with 18 seconds left as
Cox bulldozed in from two yards out earning the victory.

- McGowan went 10-12 with 143 yards and one touchdown passing along with 40 yards rushing with a touchdown
- Clark tallied 113 yards with two touchdowns
- Cox had 63 yards with two touchdowns
- Belizaire totaled 95 total yards with a touchdown
- Daniel Clark had three catches for 55 yards with his biggest catch coming on the game winning drive
- Jordan Scipio earned 10 tackles along with the interception
- Mack tallied seven tackles with the fumble recovery
- Frankie Giannetti had four tackles with two sacks
Salisbury hits the road for another NJAC match up when they travel to TCNJ on Nov. 2
nd with kickoff set for 2 p.m.
