2024 C2C Cross Country Championships Preview

THE RUNDOWN

The 2024 edition of the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Cross Country Championships heads to Newport News, Va., as Christopher Newport is set to host the event at Lee Hall Mansion. The Salisbury University men's and women's cross country teams will compete on Saturday, Nov. 2nd, starting at 11 a.m. with the women's 6K and followed by the men's team running their 8K at 12 p.m.

Both Sea Gulls teams picked up bronze medals at the 2023 C2C Championships as the men's and women's teams finished third in Sunnyvale, CA.
For the men's team, Sam Bodmer earned Second-Team All-C2C for the third straight year, crossing 14th in 26:01.7.
On the women's side, Anna Bodmer became the only non-Santa Cruz runner to earn First-Team All-C2C honors, finishing eighth in 22:51.0 to deny the Banana Slugs a clean sweep of the top eight.
UC Santa Cruz once again swept the league titles in 2023.
The Sea Gulls have a combined 18 championships in cross country. The men's team claims 10 championships, with the most recent one coming in 2014. The women's team holds eight championships with the last one coming in 2011. On three occasions Salisbury swept the conference championships: 2006, 2008, and 2010.

From what the team has shown me over the last two weeks, we are ready to compete, but we must use our mental and physical strength to stay strong throughout the race. I'm looking forward to some great performances on Saturday!
