2025 C2C Cross Country Championships Preview

The Salisbury University cross country programs traveled to host Christopher Newport University to compete in the C2C Conference Championships Saturday morning at Lee Hall Mansion. The Sea Gull Women earned second place while the Men placed third. UC Santa Cruz won the 2024 C2C Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships for the fourth consecutive year.

UCSC recorded a perfect team score of 15 points with the top five finishers in the men's 8K. The Banana Slugs Luke Holland claimed the men's crown (25:29.09). The Sea Gulls placed third with 77 points and earned three runners on the All-C2C Second Team. Landon Lewicki finished 12th with a time of 26:34.4. Seth Barron placed 14th, running an 26:42.1 8K, while Cormac Moroney earned a 16th place finish, rounding out the All-Conference with a time of 26:42.6.

On the women's side, UCSC posted a team score of 28 points with five runners in the top nine over the 6K course. The Banana Slugs Helena Janku captured the individual title (22:10.80) for the second straight year. The Sea Gulls earned a second-place finish with 45 points, which cleared CNU in third place by 27 points. The Sea Gulls were led by Anna Bodmer (22:35.8), placing third. She received All-Conference First Team Honors. Leah Snyder and Madi Sisson also finished in the top 15 for SU, earning Second Team All-Conference. 

The Sea Gulls have a combined 18 championships in cross country. The men's team claims 10 championships, with the most recent one coming in 2014. The women's team holds eight championships with the last one coming in 2011. On three occasions, Salisbury swept the conference championships: 2006, 2008, and 2010.
