SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women's basketball program starts the 2024-25 campaign 1-0 at home after taking down Notre Dame of Maryland University 62-48 Tuesday night inside Maggs Gymnasium.
After a back-and-forth first quarter with the Sea Gulls leading 17-14, SU exploded in the second quarter outscoring the Gators 23-8. Out of the second quarter media timeout, Salisbury tallied an 11-2 scoring run to end the half taking an 18-point lead into the intermission.
The third quarter was more of the same for the Sea Gulls outscoring the Gators 17-13 taking a comfortable 22-point lead into the final quarter of action and cruising to victory.
Nicole Miller led all scorers with 19 points while shooting 50 percent from downtown sinking three triples. Remy Tolar had a game-high nine rebounds while Kayla Nieberlein was the second-leading scorer for Salisbury with nine points and six rebounds. Alex Bull and Abby Plaugher both added eight points while Bull also grabbed six boards.

- The Sea Gulls shot 45 percent from the field while holding the Gators to just 31 percent
- In the dominant second quarter for Salisbury they lifted their shooting percentage to 57 percent
- SU created 21 points off turnovers while also getting 18 points off the bench
Salisbury will travel to Mechanicsburg, Pa. for the Messiah Tip-Off Tournament starting Friday, Nov. 15th, when they battle Rowan at 5 p.m.
