Women's Basketball falls against Rowan in Messiah Tip-off Tournament

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - The Salisbury University women's basketball program fell 64-40 against Rowan University Friday night inside Hitchcock Arena in the Messiah Tip-off Tournament. 

Salisbury struggled in the first half getting outscored 20-6 in the first quarter of action. Rowan shot 50 percent in the first quarter and kept that going by shooting 65 percent in the second extending its lead to 43-15 at the half. 

The Sea Gulls only shot five of 31 from the floor in the first half digging a hole they could not climb out of. Salisbury was able to out score Rowan 15-8 in the third quarter but could not continue that run in the fourth to pull back into the game. 

Nicole Miller had 11 points with four rebounds while Abby Plaugher added nine points and four rebounds. Jen Juhring lead the Sea Gulls with eight rebounds while also scoring four points. 

Game Notes
- Freshman Ella Inacio earned six points which is the most in her young career
- Salibsury scored 19 points of turnovers creating 22 turnovers from Rowan
- The Sea Gulls did win the second chance points battle with seven while Rowan only earned four

The Sea Gulls will play tomorrow at noon against either Messiah or Washington (Md.).
