SALISBURY, Md. – The reigning champion Salisbury University men's lacrosse team saw eight players named USA Lacrosse Magazine All-Americans,
as announced by the organization on Wednesday morning.
Jude Brown,
Jack Dowd, and
John DeFazio landed on the First Team for a second time this preseason as the trio received the same acknowledgment from Inside Lacrosse last week.
Braden Glushakow was picked for the Second Team, while
Brice Bromwell and
Nicholas Ransom earned Third Team honors.
Luke Nestor and
Reagan McNemar were tagged as Honorable Mention All-Americans.
Brown, a graduate student from Towson, Md., began the 2024 campaign where he left off a season ago, notching a team-high seven points on two goals and five assists in the team's 29-6 win over Berry (Ga.) on Feb. 4. Brown recorded 104 points in 2023, tying his career-high while earning All-American nods from USA Lacrosse, the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA), and the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA).
Dowd, a graduate student from Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., netted five points on a hat-trick and two assists against the Vikings last Sunday. Dowd collected 71 points in 2023, good for a new career-best and All-American honors from USILA, IMLCA, and USA Lacrosse.
DeFazio, a senior from Mountain Lakes, N.J., followed up his IMLCA Defensive Player of the Year campaign with three ground balls while forcing a pair of turnovers against Berry in the season opener. The First-Team All-American led all Sea Gulls with 57 miscues forced and scooped 106 ground balls in 2023 as well.
Glushakow, a graduate student from Hebron, Md., scored his ninth career goal and collected one ground ball against Berry. The defensive midfielder started 21 of his 23 appearances last season and was named a USILA Honorable Mention All-American.
Bromwell, a junior from Woolford, Md., logged 65 points on 52 goals and 13 assists last season. He began the 2024 slate with an efficient three-goal, four-shot performance against the Vikings.
Ransom, a junior from Prince Frederick, Md., lands on the Third Team after making 182 saves on his way to an unblemished 20-0 record in 2023. Ransom made a trio of saves in 30 minutes of action against Berry on Sunday as well.
Nestor, a senior from Salisbury, Md., blossomed in 2023, totaling 63 points with 49 goals and 14 assists in an Honorable Mention All-American campaign. Nestor netted a pair of goals for the Sea Gulls in the season opener.
McNemar, a graduate student from Millersville, Md., joins the Sea Gulls as a grad transfer from Towson in 2024. He headlined the Salisbury defensive efforts on Sunday, gathering five ground balls while causing five turnovers.
