No. 1 Men’s Lacrosse thrashes Montclair State on Senior Day, 29-2

SALISBURY, Md. – The top-ranked and unbeaten Salisbury University men's lacrosse team completed another unblemished conference slate on Saturday afternoon, defeating Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC) foe Montclair State by a 29-2 final at Sea Gull Stadium to finish 5-0 in CLC play. Before the game, the program honored the accomplishments and contributions of its 2024 senior class: Z.J. Shahin, Charlie White, John O'Rourke, John DeFazio, Joe Carozza, Blake Epstein, Mac Stofa, Nicholas Ransom, Ham McPartland, Noah Spratt, Parker Keeney, and Cristián Quesada.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Salisbury stamped the contest early with seven straight scores in the opening period. Luke Nestor began the goal fest just 90 seconds in with an unassisted finish before Jude Brown linked up with Charlie White just over three minutes later for a 2-0 lead.
  • Jack Dowd found Brice Bromwell for a pair of finishes on the doorstep on consecutive possessions, and Nestor fired his second solo strike on the next trip down to open a 5-0 lead with just under seven minutes remaining.
  • Brown set up two more finishes before the end of the stanza, linking with Ty Keaton just over 90 seconds later and finding Chris Wong in the final minute to craft the 7-0 advantage through 15 minutes.
  • After spotting the Red Hawks their first of two goals on the day, SU rattled off eight straight, beginning with Brown's fourth assist on Dowd's first score to return the margin to seven. Bromwell dumped in two more and Brown's fifth helper found White to widen the gap to double digits with 7:30 left in the half, 11-1.
  • The duo of Brown and White reversed roles 25 seconds later, with White dishing to Brown for a goal before Brown called his own number after three scoreless minutes. Bromwell aided Wong's second goal and Nestor completed a first-half hat trick in the final two minutes, setting the intermission score at 15-1.
  • A penalty with no time left in the half helped Montclair find their final goal of the day, with the Sea Gulls closing the contest on a 14-0 run. Brown found Wong and Nestor aided a man-up goal for Dowd before independent efforts by Dowd and Josh Sanchez further distanced the Red Hawks, 19-2.
  • Salisbury recorded six goals in the final 5:16 of the third quarter, led by a pair of finishes by Lucas Ingley. Wong and Bromwell each tallied a goal and an assist in that span, Brayden Velasquez joined the scoring column, and Mackenzie Moreland logged his third career assist to help the hosts haul a 25-2 score into the final 15 minutes.
