Held, Hunsinger garner USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American honors

SALISBURY, Md. – The fifth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team saw Natalie Held and Kaitlyn Hunsinger tabbed USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III All-Americans, announced by the outlet on Friday morning.

Held was named a First-Team All-American, while Hunsinger earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades.

Held, a junior from Ellicott City, Md., logged a banner year in the Salisbury backline, tallying career highs in draw controls (66), ground balls (45), and caused turnovers (31) so far this season. She was excellent in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) title game, corralling seven draw controls and two ground balls while forcing two miscues.

After being named the C2C Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, Held elevated from a 2023 Third-Team choice by the outlet to a First-Team selection. She was also tabbed a Preseason All-American by the outlet, released back on Feb. 7.

Hunsinger, a graduate student from Lutherville, Md., boasts a goals-against average (GAA) of 7.79, ranking 11th nationally in the figure. She also sits in the top 50 in Division III in save percentage (.469).
The veteran net-minder joined Held as both an IWLCA and USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American last season as well.

Held, Hunsinger, and the Sea Gulls commence the quest for the program's fifth NCAA Division III National Championship on Sunday, facing the winner of Saturday's first-round matchup between 24th-ranked Haverford and Cabrini. Saturday's contest is set to begin at noon, while SU begins its tournament run at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets for both Saturday and Sunday are now available for purchase online.
