Women’s Soccer blanks No. 18 Johns Hopkins in draw

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team put together a strong defensive showing on Wednesday afternoon, escaping a matchup with the 18th-ranked Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins with a scoreless draw at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.

Salisbury goalkeeper Hayle Foreman was tested early in the battle, turning away the first Blue Jay attempt just 130 seconds into the game before Alex Jankowski and Katy Poltrack forced a pair of stops by the JHU net-minder.

Foreman went on to record three first-half saves, all in the first 13 minutes of the match, while the Sea Gull backline weathered six JHU attempts and a pair of corner kicks in the first half to protect the draw at intermission.

Salisbury's final attempt on goal came from the foot of Jankowski in the 61st minute, a look that was handled by the opposing keeper. The Blue Jays prompted another three saves from Foreman in the second period, all coming in the final nine minutes of the match, but the sophomore turned away each try to send the visitors back to Baltimore with a tie.
