Late score helps Women's Soccer outlast Catholic

SALISBURY, Md. – For the second time this season, a Jordan Edwards goal in the final 15 minutes lifted the Sea Gulls to a victory as Salisbury earned a 1-0 win over Catholic on Saturday afternoon at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.

Salisbury (3-1-5) collected six shots across the opening 18 minutes, including a pair of on-target looks from Alex Jankowski and one accurate attempt by Kristen Ging, but the visitors withstood the early barrage. Each side tallied two more shots across the remainder of the half, with Ging forcing a fourth first-half save in the final minute to keep the match scoreless at the midway point.

The Cardinals (4-3-1) flipped the script in the second period, taking nine of the first 10 shots in the half across 18 minutes and tasking Salisbury's Riley Pinato with a trio of turnaways to keep the match level.

The Sea Gulls responded with a surge of their own, putting a pair of shots on target before Ging connected with Edwards for the eventual game-winner in the 78th minute. Salisbury would surrender just one more shot through the final minutes to secure the 1-0 victory.
