Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Nick Lewis

Men’s Soccer rolls through St. Mary’s (Md.) for third straight victory

SALISBURY, Md. – Three's were everywhere for the Salisbury University men's soccer team on Wednesday evening as the Sea Gulls produced at least three goals for the third straight game, locking down a 3-0 victory over the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.

Salisbury (5-2-1) outshot the Seahawks in the opening 17 minutes, 3-2, before the team found its first finish in the 18th minute. Brady Young delivered a quick flick to Gavin Miller, whose third shot of the game glided into the near corner to establish an early lead, 1-0.

The Seahawks (1-5-2) fired seven shots to Salisbury's one through the rest of the half, but the hosts needed just one save from Clif Nehman to preserve the one-goal advantage going into the break.

Salisbury fired six shots and forced two saves in the first 30 minutes of the second period before the dam broke in the 78th. Martin Parrish sent an arcing cross to Eric Howard in the box, who headed the ball inches past the diving Seahawk net-minder to extend the lead, 2-0.

The Sea Gulls recorded their third goal with just seconds left in the contest. Tristan Brannock laced a through-ball to Miller, who dumped off to the tailing Young in the box who set the final score, 3-0.
