SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team fell by a 3-0 decision to the fifth-ranked Carnegie Mellon Tartans on Sunday afternoon at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.
The Sea Gulls (3-3-5) were placed in an early hole when Carnegie Mellon's Audrey Blanco scored in the third minute. Gemma Jefferson extended the lead to a pair in the 20th, tucking a pass from Alma Zhong in the corner into the net for a 2-0 lead.
The Tartans (7-0-3) barred the hosts from the scoreboard for the remainder of the half. CMU found its third strike in the 80th minute when Bianco linked with Erin Magid to set the final score, 3-0.
GAME NOTES
Salisbury travels to Ashland, Va. on Wednesday, Oct. 2 to face the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. from Nunnally Field.
