Four Sea Gulls score in Men’s Soccer’s wild win over Stevenson

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's soccer team emerged from a wild Wednesday afternoon on the island with a 4-2 victory, outracing the Stevenson University Mustangs inside the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex to improve to 2-0-1 on the season.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 25th minute as Stevenson's Joey Brauer found Bryant Seivers for the opening strike. Gavin Miller helped Salisbury punch back, yanking the string on a free kick less than two minutes later to bring the game even.

Salisbury weathered four corner kicks in the opening period while keeping Stevenson to one score in the opening period. Liam Pierce found his first goal of the campaign in the 37th minute, putting the Sea Gulls in front with a 2-1 advantage that held through to the break.

The Mustangs scored less than 90 seconds into the second half with a score by Gianfranco Vitella that seesawed the contest back to a 2-2 deadlock. Salisbury responded with intensity, outshooting the visitors 11-1 and earning four corner kicks through the remainder of the half.

A contentious 30 minutes ended when Alex Floyd flicked the ball out of a scrum in front of the goal to Josh Williamson, who took a high touch to put the Sea Gulls ahead in the 78th minute, 3-2.
Salisbury placed the cherry on top in the 86th minute when Brady Young delivered a pinpoint feed from the corner to Tristan Brannock's shoulder, where he pushed it past the Mustang keeper to set the final score.
