Men’s Soccer clipped by Dickinson at Seahawk Classic

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's soccer team endured its first defeat of the season on Saturday evening, falling to the Dickinson Red Devils on the first day of the Seahawk Classic on the campus of St. Mary's (Md.).

Dickinson's first score came in the 11th minute when Connor Uitterdijk found Saul Iwowo for an early 1-0 lead. The Red Devils scored their second just six seconds before intermission as Tyson Burling found Luke Beiles.

Salisbury outshot Dickinson 4-3 in the first period and tallied six shots throughout the contest. The Sea Gulls created three corner kicks in the second half but failed to find a score.

GAME NOTES
  • Ethan Dolezal, Jack Schwarz, and Josh Wendel played the full 90 minutes on Saturday.
  • Wendel made a pair of saves in the losing effort.
  • Six different Sea Gulls recorded a shot throughout the match.
The Sea Gulls clash with Eastern Shore rival No. 4 Washington (Md.) in the team's Seahawk Classic finale. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. from Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
