Game Recap: Women's Soccer | | Nick Lewis

Late goal sinks Women’s Soccer in matchup with No. 25 McDaniel

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the 25th-ranked McDaniel Green Terror on day two of the 2024 Salisbury University Classic at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.

The Sea Gulls and Green Terror battled in the early minutes, with neither team registering a shot until Zakiyyah McMillan's in the 16th minute. McDaniel responded quickly, forcing three saves by Riley Pinato across a four-minute span that ended in the 25th minute.

Salisbury forced a pair of saves by the Green Terror goalkeeper before intermission, maintaining the scoreless tie at the break.

Each unit forced a pair of saves by the opposing net-minder until the dam broke for McDaniel in the 81st minute. Madyson Hill dished a helper to Katy Hammer for the game-winner and the Green Terror prevented any late Sea Gull heroics to secure the win.
