SALISBURY, Md. – The turn of the calendar did nothing to deter the Salisbury University women's swimming team, who returned to action by smashing 11 pool records and winning their 14th consecutive home dual meet, 226-72 over the Stevens Ducks, on Friday afternoon at Maggs Pool.
MEET NOTES
- Sydney McCallie led the way with four gold medals, earning individual crowns in the 100-meter backstroke (1:05.67) and 400-meter individual medley (4:59.96).
- Mackenzie Gula garnered three gold medals and one silver, taking solo first place in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.01) and 200-meter individual medley (2:22.42).
- Sadie Hebert captured five medals, earning individual gold in the 200-meter butterfly (2:25.02), silver in the 100-meter backstroke (1:06.80), and bronze in the 100-meter butterfly (1:05.72).
- Alexa Hilty medaled in three events, including a gold in the 100-meter freestyle (1:01.00) and silver in the 50-meter freestyle (27.72).
- Samantha Watson became a three-time medalist on the day, placing first individually in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:45.72) and second in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:15.47).
- The Sea Gulls' A-teams won all three relay events. The 200-meter medley squad of Delaney Gibbons, Watson, Hebert, and Hilty led off with a gold-winning mark of 2:00.76.
- In the 200-meter freestyle relay, McCallie, Lily Griffin, Gula, and Elizabeth Perry posted a mark of 1:48.69 that was nearly five seconds faster than their top competitors.
- The 400-meter freestyle relay team of McCallie, Hebert, Perry, and Rachel Rickabaugh were over nine seconds faster than the field, taking the gold in 4:02.36.
- SU exited the pool owners of 34 medals, including 15 gold, 13 silver, and six bronze.

The Sea Gulls will swim for the final time in the regular season on Saturday, Jan. 25 against Catholic. First events at Maggs Pool are scheduled for 1 p.m., and Senior Day festivities will be held before the start of the meet.
