Swimming both ranked in coaches’ poll; Men’s Lacrosse top-two in preseason

SALISBURY, Md. – Presenting "Roadie Joes Rankings" for the fifth Wednesday in January. The Salisbury University swimming teams are simultaneously ranked in their coaches' polls for the first time in program history, while men's lacrosse earned preseason top-two positioning from the sport's top poll.
 
Men's Swimming – 19th | CSCAA Division III Top 25 Poll, January
Salisbury maintained its No. 19 ranking in the monthly poll with 115 points, holding a position between 18th-ranked Hope (130) and 20th-ranked Connecticut College (81).
 
The Sea Gulls wrapped up the regular season with a 203-59 victory over Catholic on Saturday, improving their dual-meet record to 6-1. Christopher Knorr was named New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career, while Mason Potts picked up NJAC Rookie of the Week for the sixth time this season.
 
Salisbury now has their sights set on the 2025 NJAC Championships in Hampton, Va., set to begin on Thursday, Feb. 13 and conclude on Sunday, Feb. 16.
 
Women's Swimming – 24th | CSCAA Division III Top 25 Poll, January
Salisbury moved up from receiving votes in December to No. 24 in January with 23 points, just under 23rd-ranked Amherst (55) and above 25th-ranked Middlebury (18). It marks the first time in program history the Sea Gull women have been ranked in the sport's coaches' poll. SU was the only NJAC program to make the poll this month.
 
The Sea Gulls completed an undefeated dual-meet schedule on Saturday, improving to 7-0 with a 215-45 triumph over Catholic. Sydney McCallie and Sadie Hebert led the way for SU, combining to win seven gold medals.
 
Salisbury will chase its first-ever conference crown at the 2025 NJAC Championships in Hampton, Va., over four days from Thursday, Feb. 13 to Sunday, Feb. 16.
 
Men's Lacrosse – 2nd | USILA Division III Rankings, Preseason
 
Salisbury received 448 points and two first-place votes from the sport's preseason coaches' poll, behind only top-ranked Tufts with 473 points and 20 first-place votes. RIT, Washington & Lee, and Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC) rival Christopher Newport rounded out the top five.
 
The Sea Gulls enter 2025 in a strong position after going 21-1 and advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals in 2024. SU brings back the reigning Iroquois National Outstanding Player of the Year in defenseman John DeFazio, plus First-Team All-American and 54-goal attackman Brice Bromwell.
 
Salisbury opens the regular season at home on Saturday against Eastern. Opening faceoff from Sea Gull Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
