Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Andrew Barbieri

Second-half score sinks Men’s Soccer vs. Catholic

WASHINGTON, DC– The Salisbury University men's soccer team leveled the score in the 20th minute on Wednesday night against the Catholic University of America Cardinals. However, the Cardinals retook the lead in the 62nd minute to take the non-conference clash at Carlini Field.

Catholic drew first blood in the 13th minute after Nate Jones made three stops in the first 10 minutes, then Noah Blankensop delivered a pass to David Brunetti, who delivered a strike into the top right corner to knot the affair up in the 20th minute.

Catholic continued to pepper shots in Jones' direction, and eventually found the onion bag and never looked back.

GAME NOTES
  • Brunetti has scored four goals in his past three games and is tied for the lead in goals in the Coast-To-Coast Conference.
  • Blankensop recorded his third career assist.
  • Jones made six stops and was tagged with the loss.
The Sea Gulls head home to host the Regent University Royals on Saturday at 1 p.m. inside The Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex. The team will take pictures and sign autographs after the game for Youth Day, sponsored by Seaside Smiles.
