WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team opened the month of October on Wednesday with a 0-0 draw against the McDaniel College Green Terror inside The Green Terror Soccer Complex.
Riley Kinzeler was tested nine minutes into the contest and denied a McDaniel penalty kick by punching the attempt aside.
Brooke Spadin,
Ashley Pantano and
Lauren Chesney fired the next three shots on goal in the affair, all being stopped by Green Terror keeper Sierra Ruehl.
McDaniel responded to SU's trio of chances with a bid that was saved by Kinzeler to conclude the first frame.
The maroon and gold took control of the second stanza by outshooting McDaniel 13-4. Kinzeler made two saves during the middle part of the segment, and the Gulls countered with six consecutive tries on the other end.
Emma Schwartz came closest to breaking the deadlock, but hit the crossbar.
In the final moments, Pantano made a run down the right-hand side of the pitch and put a final ball towards the net that sailed over the bar.
