Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Andrew Barbieri

Men’s Soccer battles with Mary Washington in scoreless draw

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury University men's soccer team was awarded a penalty kick with three seconds remaining, but David Brunetti was denied, resulting in a 0-0 finish on Saturday with the University of Mary Washington Eagles at The Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex.

The Sea Gulls generated more chances in the first frame, 9-5, with shots on goal from Michelangelo Parravano, Conor Moran and Dale Gordon. Gavin Miller found space just outside the box for a try that glanced off the crossbar.

Control of the second half swung back-and-forth as Tanner Calzado was stopped from point-blank, then Sammy Amorose fired from within the box at Sea Gull keeper Nate Jones, who punched the ball aside.

The Maroon and Gold mustered up a corner in the final minute, resulting in a handball to set up the PK that didn't go as time ran out.
