Women’s Tennis gets taste of ITA Regional competition

Hall, Whiteside win four doubles matches for bracket title

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team sent four of its best players to compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Women's Southeast Regional Championships, which were held on Saturday through Monday at the University of Mary Washington.
 
TOURNAMENT NOTES
  • In the B1 doubles draw, Olivia Hall and Evelyn Whiteside powered their way to win the bracket, taking their four matches by a combined score of 24-6. Hall and Whiteside dispatched duos from Gettysburg (6-2), Catholic (6-2), and Lynchburg (6-1) in the first three rounds before easily putting away Mary Washington's Madison McCarty and Abiela Wang 6-1 in the finals.
  • In the Championship doubles bracket, newcomer Cleo Solomon and Gibelle Beaujon won their first-round tilt against Stephanie Untermeyer and Lorena Piegas of Stevens, 7-5, before bowing to a duo from Johns Hopkins 8-3 in the second round.
  • Solomon and Beaujon both lost their first matches in the Championship singles draw, but Beaujon won a Consolation-bracket matchup against Chloe Heller of Dickinson, 8-2, before dropping an 8-4 decision to Haverford's Adelaide Kreutel.
  • Hall picked up a singles victory in the consolation bracket of the B1 draw, knocking off Sydney Shifman of Moravian 8-6.
 
The Sea Gulls will announce their schedule for the spring 2026 season at a later date.
