ST MARY'S CITY, Md. – Salisbury University women's soccer team broke through in the second stanza to slip by the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks 1-0 on Tuesday night inside Jaime L. Roberts Stadium.
The Sea Gulls held a slight edge in the first half, outpacing St Mary's (Md.) 6-4 in shots, with SU getting four of their attempts on cage.
About eleven minutes after the break,
Ava Wheeler got behind the defense, sent a left-footed shot off the hands of Seahawks keeper Breanna Brown, but left a rebound for
Olivia Pasko, who made no mistake, scoring on a yawning cage to give the Sea Gulls the advantage.
Defensively, the Maroon and Gold allowed seven shots, with one going on target, to box in the Seahawks' offense.
