BALTIMORE, Md. –
Dale Gordon led an odd-man rush down the field for the Sea Gulls (7-4-2) in the 85th minute and placed a shot on goal that was saved. However, there was
David Brunetti to pick up the loose change and give Salisbury a 2-1 lead that they held onto on Wednesday night in Charm City against the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays (3-3-5).
SU held a slight edge in shots in the first segment, 6-5. Still, it was the Blue Jays opening the scoring in the 17th minute, following their only corner kick of the half.
The maroon and gold took control of the second stanza by outshooting Johns Hopkins 10-2 in search of the equalizer.
Noah Blankensop,
Gavin Miller and
Michelangelo Parravano handled the ball from 10 yards beyond the box before Parravano unleashed a strike into the back of the net to knot up the affair in the 65th minute.
Following the Brunetti goal, the Gulls fended off the Blue Jays final attacks to secure the road victory.
