EWING, N.J. - The No. 4 Salisbury University field hockey program outlasted No. 23 The College of New Jersey 3-2 Saturday afternoon at the TCNJ Field Hockey complex to wrap up the 2025 regular season.
The Sea Gulls (15-2) struck first with
McKenna Horner scoring off an assist from
Marli McDorman just 10 minutes into the contest. The Lions (12-5) were able to knot things up before the half with a goal in the second quarter.
SU outshot TCNJ 12-4 in the first half as the teams headed into the halftime break tied 1-1. The Gulls offense would get off to a quick start in the second half as McDorman picked up another assist off a goal from
Madelyn Reed, giving the Sea Gulls the lead back 2-1.
With under two minutes left in the contest,
Devon DeGregory added to the lead with a penalty stroke goal. TCNJ added a goal with less than a minute to play, but SU held on for the 3-2 victory.
Game Notes
- SU outshot TCNJ 21-7 for the game. The Sea Gulls put 12 of those on goal while the Lions tallied six of their seven on goal.
- SU also tallied 15 penalty corner chances compared to just eight for TCNJ.
- This was DeGregory's first career goal as a Sea Gull.

Kelly Davis improved her record in the cage to 15-2 with two saves.
The Sea Gulls will now head to New Paltz, N.Y., for the SUNYAC Conference Tournament, with the semifinal game set for Friday, November 7th, at 11 a.m. against Oneonta.
