SALISBURY, Md. – The 24th-ranked Salisbury University women's swimming team secured its 17th consecutive dual-meet home victory in dominant fashion, clipping the Rowan Profs 177.5-84.5 on Saturday afternoon at Maggs Pool.
MEET NOTES
- Mackenzie Gula powered her way to three gold medals and one silver on the day. Individually she captured the crown in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:14.64) and 200 individual medley (2:25.63) while placing second in the 100 freestyle (1:00.91).
- Rowan Odonoghue matched Gula with three golds and a silver, taking individual titles in the 200 free (2:09.37) and 400 free (4:35.16) with a runner-up finish in the 50 free (27.98).
- Libby Miyashita captured four medals with two golds, a silver, and a bronze. She won her solo race in the 200 butterfly (2:23.91), placed second in the 100 fly (1:04.96), and took third in the 200 IM (2:30.29).
- Rachel Rickabaugh won gold in the 100 free (1:00.74) and silver in the 200 free (2:10.97) for two of her three medals on the day.
- Kaitlyn McGuire struck gold in three events, with an individual mark in the 50 free (27.69).
- Salisbury placed 1-2 to start the day in the 200 medley relay, with the A-team of Isabelle Salvatore, Gula, Miyashita, and McGuire touching first in 2:01.19 and the B-team of Logan Bagley, Samantha Watson, Sadie Hebert, and Lily Griffin rolling in second in 2:02.16.
- In the meet-closing 200 free relay, SU again posted the top two marks. A-teamers McGuire, Salvatore, Griffin, and Odonoghue (1:50.91) captured gold, with the silver falling to B-teamers Rickabaugh, Alexa Hilty, Bagley, and Olivia Polucha (1:52.56).
- Salisbury wrapped the day with 28 medals, taking 11 gold, 10 silver, and seven bronze.
The Sea Gulls will face their second straight NJAC foe next Saturday at TCNJ. First event from Ewing, N.J. is set for 1 p.m.
