SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women's basketball team fell 49-43 against Penn State Abington Wednesday night inside Maggs Gymnasium. Jen Juhring and Nicole Miller both posted career-highs in rebounds. Juhring tallied 12 while Miller posted seven.

Penn State Abington (3-2) posted a strong first quarter of action, shooting 38 percent from the field, while Salisbury (2-2) shot 27 percent, which gave the Nittany Lions a 13-11 advantage heading into the second quarter of play. The Sea Gull defense ramped it up in the second, holding Penn State Abington to just 18 percent from the floor and 0-3 from three. They held the Nittany Lions to just six points in the quarter.

The Sea Gulls took a 22-19 lead into halftime after a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Abby Plaugher, which was assisted by Keturah Stewart. Plaugher finished with 14 points and three rebounds. SU was not able to carry that momentum in the second half of action as the Nittany Lions outscored the Sea Gulls 22-9 in the third quarter, which included a 12-0 start.

The Sea Gulls attempted to make a run late, but the deficit was too much to overcome. Miller finished with 14 points along with the career-high seven rebounds and two steals. Juhring scored five points with her career-high 12 rebounds and three steals.
