Miller's first career double-double lifts Women’s Basketball over Lehman

Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's basketball program picked up an 82-73 Governors Challenge Collegiate opening win over Lehman College Saturday afternoon inside the Wicomico County Civic Center.

Salisbury was outscored 21-16 in the first quarter but never looked back after that, winning each quarter of the game the rest of the way. SU led by three at the halftime break and then was able to push the lead to six before the fourth and secure the victory. 

The Sea Gull were powered by a double-double from Nicole Miller, who posted 26 points and 10 rebounds along with four Assists. She shot 50 percent from downtown with four three-pointers.

Abby Plaugher tallied 27 points, five rebounds, and two assists. She posted a 50 percent shooting percentage from the field with three three-pointers. Sayuri Penaranda posted her first double-digit scoring outing as a Sea Gull with 12 points, four rebounds, and two assists in just 14 minutes of action.

Game Notes
- The Sea Gulls shot 44 percent from the field and 39 percent from deep, knocking down 10 three pointers. 
- SU won the rebound battle 49-30 and posted 20 offensive rebounds. 
- Keturah Stewart posted 10 points with five assists and three rebounds. 
- Jen Juhring tallied 13 rebounds and seven assists. 

The Sea Gulls will take on Immaculata University tomorrow in the Tournament Title game at 5 p.m. inside the Wicomico County Civic Center.
