Men’s Basketball stumbles against No. 10 Roanoke

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's basketball team was stifled 79-63 on Sunday afternoon against the No. 10 Roanoke Maroons inside the Wicomico County Civic Center.

Aidan Camper got the Sea Gulls (2-4) on the board by hitting a jumper from beyond the arc to give Salisbury an early 3-2 advantage. The following possessions were dominated by Daniel Oyediran, who made a bucket in the paint, then came down and scored again, plus a foul to complete a three-point play.

Just the midway point in the first segment, Tyler Ball knotted the score at 21 with a mid-range jumper. The Maroons (4-1) used a 32-6 run through the rest of the half to take a 53-27 lead after 20 minutes of play.

Jamison Graves helped level the waters in the second frame, scoring 14 points. Ball drilled two triples, and the Sea Gulls outscored Roanoke 36-26 while shooting 48 percent (12-25) and held the Maroons to a 39.1 field goal percentage (9-23).

GAME NOTES
  • Graves scored over 20 points for the second time this season by tallying 21 points on 7-13 shooting and went 6-8 from the free throw line.
  • Salisbury shot 47.1 percent (24-51) from the field, 40.0 percent (4-10) from distance and 64.7 percent (11-17) from the charity stripe.
The Sea Gulls travel to Baltimore to take on the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays on Saturday.
