SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's basketball program soared past Gallaudet University 114-40 Saturday afternoon inside Maggs Gymnasium. The Sea Gulls recorded the second-most points scored in a game in program history.
Salisbury (5-2) got out to a blazing start to the game, outscoring Gallaudet (1-5) 30-16 in the first quarter of action. The Sea Gulls ramped it up even more in the second, outscoring the Bison 32-7 and heading into the halftime break leading 62-23.
SU shot 68 percent from the floor in the first quarter, which included four three-pointers. They also shot 48 percent in the second while holding Gallaudet to 23 percent.
The momentum for SU carried into the second half of action as well, outscoring Gallaudet 52-17. Salisbury shot 57 percent from the floor in the second half, which included six threes.
Nicole Miller led all scorers with 23 points, shooting 10-11 from the field.
Kisa Lilly posted a career-high 20 points along with seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals.
Game Notes
- The Sea Gull defense tallied 22 steals and scored 46 points off turnovers.
- SU also posted 26 second-chance points with 15 offensive rebounds.
- Salisbury won the battle in the paint 60-18.
- Abby Plaugher and Samantha Shively both posted 13 points and three rebounds.
- The Gulls finished shooting 57 percent from the floor and 50 percent from three-point range.
The Sea Gulls will be back in action on Dec. 3
rd when they take on Stevenson for Greek Night and Teddy Bear Toss night at 5:30 p.m.
