SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women's basketball program fell 84-80 in the tight contest against Stevenson University Wednesday night inside Maggs Gymnasium on Greek Night and Toys for Tots Teddy Bear Toss night.

The Sea Gulls (5-3) shot 50 percent from the field in the first quarter of action to jump out to a 19-16 lead. SU was able to build on that momentum in the second quarter as they outscored the Mustangs (3-3) 25-15 and headed into the halftime break with a 13-point lead.

The second half was a different story for Stevenson, as they came out of halftime and shot 62 percent from the field, which included four three-pointers. The game headed into the final quarter of play all tied up.

The teams ramped up the intensity in the fourth quarter, in a game that included 10 lead changes and seven ties. It was once again tied at 76 with two minutes remaining. The Mustangs were able to take a three-point lead with 20 seconds remaining and added to that with two free throws.
