SALISBURY, Md. –
David Brunetti won rookie of the year as the Salisbury University men's soccer team landed five student-athletes on the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) all-conference teams, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
Brunetti led the way as the lone Sea Gull on the All-C2C First Team. The squad also placed four on the Second Team:
Gavin Miller,
Dale Gordon,
Nicolas Chinchilla and
Jack Schwarz.
Brunetti, a freshman from Essex, Md., was the highest-scoring freshman in the conference, finding the onion bag seven times in his first season in college soccer. The First-Teamer picked up two game-winners while leading the Maroon and Gold attack.
Miller, a senior from Salisbury, Md., has been a steady presence in the midfield, making her third appearance on an All-C2C team. The Parkside graduate netted two goals and gave out two helpers while starting in all 17 contests for the Sea Gulls.
Gordon, a junior from Ellicott City, Md., returns to the Second Team after making an appearance in 2023. Gordon started in all 17 games, leading the team in assists (5), and closed out the year with an assist against No. 22 Christopher Newport.
Chinchilla, a freshman from Brooklyn Park, Md., made an immediate impact, aiding the Sea Gull defense by logging over 1000 minutes in his inaugural season.
Schwarz, a junior from Richmond, Va., made it to the Second Team after making an appearance last year. Schwarz anchored the backline alongside Chinchilla to hold defenses to 1.12 goals allowed per game.
The SU men's soccer program now boasts 149 all-conference selections, including 83 first-team honorees and 66 second-team choices. Brunetti brought home the first Rookie of the Year for the program since 1998.
Salisbury kicks off the 2025 C2C Championships with a quarterfinal battle with No. 6 seed Warren Wilson on Thursday, Nov. 6th. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from Newport News, Va.
