NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Salisbury University men's soccer program (8-5-5) continued to click on the offensive end, slipping by the sixth-seeded Warren Wilson College Owls (2-12-1) 3-2 on Thursday evening.
Aaron Glikin got the party started after finding himself with a wide-open net after
David Peters and
Tanner Calzado connected to set up the freshman. The Owl responded three minutes later in the 29th minute, and the 1-1 deadlock rode into halftime.
The Maroon and Gold got back in front after
Noah Blankensop stole an Owl clearing attempt and drove it inside the left post.
The teams traded penalty kick scores as
Dale Gordon made it a 3-1 advantage, but Benjamin Soto brought it back to a one-goal game.
The Gulls held down the fort in the final 25 minutes to secure a spot in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference semifinals.

The Sea Gulls take on the second-seeded University of Mary Washington Eagles for the third time this season. Semifinal action commences on Friday at 7 p.m. inside Captains Field.
