SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women's basketball program started the 2025-26 campaign off with a 68-48 win over Washington College (Md.) Saturday afternoon inside Maggs Gymnasium.
The Sea Gulls (1-0) used a powerful first half to earn the season-opening victory over the Shorewomen (0-1). SU outscored WC 17-9 in the first quarter of action, which included eight points off turnovers for the Sea Gulls. After the Shorewomen tied the game 4-4 early in the first, the Sea Gulls would regain the lead and never look back.

SU posted 10 points in the paint during that second quarter, along with eight points off either second-chance opportunities or turnovers. The Gulls shot 47 percent from the field in the second period.
The Shorewomen were able to win the third quarter of action 18-16, and battled in the fourth, but the first-half advantage SU built proved to be too much.
Keturah Stewart led all scorers with 19 points and added four assists.
Abby Plaugher trailed right behind her with 18 points while adding five rebounds and three steals.
Nadia Bullock posted six rebounds and four points in her first game back from injury.
