SALISBURY, Md. - The 21st annual
D3football.com All-Region Teams have been announced. Players were nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools. The Sea Gulls tabbed two players on the All-Region 2 team.
Chris Clarke earned First-Team honors, while
Dario Belizaire earned Third-Team honors.
Clarke, the Ridgely, Md. native, is fresh off earning AFCA All-America First-Team honors, starting all 12 games for Salisbury on the front line, as the offense averaged 45 points and 484 yards per game. The offense had also been successful, converting 51 percent of third-down situations and 67 percent of fourth-down situations, which was a significant factor in the team's 10-win season and its advancement to the Third Round of the NCAA Tournament. Clarke also earned All NJAC First-Team, along with one other Sea Gull offensive lineman, earning All-Conference honors.
Belizaire, the junior from Cambridge, Md., has posted his second consecutive season with 1,000 all-purpose yards. Through the air, he has tallied 622 yards on just 23 catches, which is good enough for 27 yards per reception, along with nine touchdowns. The nine touchdowns stand as the most receiving touchdowns in a single season for the Sea Gull football program. On the ground, he has tallied four touchdowns with 641 yards on 64 carries, which is 10 yards per carry.
The Sea Gull offense finished first in the country with 54 rushing touchdowns, second in rushing yards with 3,711, third in rushing yards per game at 309, and second in yards per carry with 7.84.
