Women’s Basketball drops road contest at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Salisbury University women's basketball program fell 68-50 Monday night at Shenandoah University inside James R. Wilkins Athletics & Events Center.

The Sea Gulls (10-11) used an 8-0 run in the first quarter to take a four-point advantage early. The Hornets (15-6) would answer right back finishing the quarter on a 9-2 run and earning a 13-10 lead at the end of the first quarter of action.

The Salisbury defense continued to soar in the second as they held Shenandoah to below 35 percent shooting in the first half and 0-11 from three-point range. The Sea Gulls outscored the Hornets 12-8 in the quarter taking a one-point edge into the halftime break.

In the second half, the Shenandoah offense came alive, shooting 64 percent from the field in the third quarter. The Hornets would go on to outscore the Sea Gulls by 19 for the half.

Game Notes The Sea Gulls have a quick turnaround as they travel to Randolph-Macon College on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
