Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse | | Nick Lewis

No. 3 Men’s Lacrosse cruises to third straight win over Scranton

SALISBURY, Md. – The third-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team looked plenty comfortable back on its home field, cruising to a 17-4 victory over the University of Scranton Royals on Saturday afternoon inside Sea Gull Stadium.

The Royals (0-1) found the contest's first goal after eight scoreless minutes and a trio of Sea Gull caused turnovers before a Brice Bromwell feed found Ryan Della to knot the contest at one. Kellen Smaw added to the advantage just over a minute later, setting the 2-1 score that stood through 15 minutes.

The Sea Gulls (3-0) needed just 42 seconds to strike in the second stanza, with Riley Strub distributing a dime to Ty Keaton to open a 5-1 SU quarter. After Scranton's second goal, SU used strikes from Michael Leahy, Keaton, Bromwell and Strub to open up a five-goal advantage at the break, 7-2.

Another quick start manifested for Salisbury in the third quarter, with Bromwell dishing to Connor Herraiz 42 seconds into the period. Herraiz found Strub 61 seconds later before delivering an assist on John DeFazio's eighth career goal to bring SU's total to 10. Goals from Leahy and Della helped counteract a pair of Royal scores, setting the score at 12-4 heading into the fourth.

The final frame belonged to the maroon and gold, seeing SU sling five goals across 15 minutes of shutout lacrosse. Bromwell and Leahy started the period's scoring before Lucas Ingley notched his first score of 2025, followed by return entries from Della and Leahy to put a bow on the 17-4 win.
