SU brings Charles B. Clark Cup home for 11th straight season

Box Score CHESTERTOWN, Md. – For the 11th time in as many meetings, the Charles B. Clark Cup will return home to Salisbury as the second-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team planted its flag in Chestertown, Md. in the 57th installment of the War on the Shore, 20-6, on Friday evening at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium.

The Shoremen (7-10, 1-7 Centennial) netted the game's opening goal before the maroon and gold rolled out a 7-1 run spanning the bulk of the night's first frame of action. Ty Keaton and Brice Bromwell each logged three points in the run before the hosts added their third goal in the quarter's final seconds.

The Sea Gulls (17-0, 5-0 CLC) tacked on five more in the second stanza, each punched in by a different goal-scorer. Bromwell started the scoring not quite five minutes into the quarter before a man-up finish from Keaton and add-ons from Lucas Ingley, Charles Fritchman and Chris Wong set the halftime score, 12-3.

Each side netted just one goal through 13 minutes of second-half action before the Sea Gull erupted for three goals in the final two minutes of the third frame, toting a 12-goal margin into the fourth. Riley Strub preceded a Connor Herraiz goal and two finishes from Wong in the penultimate period.

SU answered the fifth and sixth Washington goals with four of their own in the final 15 minutes, courtesy of Bromwell, Ingley, Ryan Della and Brayden Velasquez, to seal the 20-6 final score.
