No. 2 Men’s Lacrosse cages Ospreys, moves on to CLC Championship

Bromwell eclipses 100 points in semifinal win

SALISBURY, Md. – The seventh-ranked, top-seeded and unbeaten Salisbury University men's lacrosse team secured a place in Sunday's Coastal Lacrosse Conference (CLC) championship game on Wednesday afternoon, rolling to a 23-3 victory over the fifth-seeded Stockton University Ospreys in the CLC semifinal at Sea Gull Stadium.

The Sea Gulls (18-0, 5-0 CLC) netted a pair in the opening five minutes before the visitors found their first score of the contest at the 9:23 mark. SU seized the reins of the contest from there, unleashing a 10-goal swing spanning nearly 20 minutes of action headlined by a Ryan Della hat trick and braces from Brice Bromwell and Michael Leahy to build a 12-1 lead with 5:43 to go in the first half.

The Ospreys (9-10, 1-4 CLC) broke the Sea Gull span with 2:10 left in the second quarter, but a quick win forward and finish from Blake Malamphy restored the 11-goal edge at the break. The Sea Gulls held their guests scoreless in the third while tacking on three more scores before Leahy and Charles Fritchman tallies in the fourth established an 18-2 SU lead with 14:15 left in the bout.

Stockton's final goal came with just under nine minutes left, and the Sea Gulls added five more tallies in the final minutes including the second career goals for Nick Donofrio and Jimmy Son.
