Softball places two on CSC Academic All-District team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Two members of the 11th-ranked Salisbury University softball team – center fielder Jillian Dawson and catcher Emily Stockman – were recognized as 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees by the organization on Tuesday.
 
Dawson, the senior from Middletown, Del., posted a .373 batting average with 41 hits, six doubles, three triples, and one home run. Her first career home run came in the NCAA Regionals in her 350th at bat, 150th career game, and in extra innings. She also posted an on-base percentage of .410 with 12 stolen bases and a 1.000 fielding percentage. Dawson graduated with a 3.50 GPA with a degree in nursing with plans to become an Emergency Room nurse or an Intensive Care Unit nurse.

Stockman, the senior from Brunswick, Md., started every game behind the plate for the program, earning a .346 batting average with 46 hits, 12 doubles, one triple, 12 home runs, and 43 RBIs. She led the team in home runs, RBIs, and total bases. Stockman graduated with a 3.78 GPA with a degree in integrated science major, with a concentration in forensic science, and a minor in chemistry. She plans to pursue a career in Forensic Science and work in a forensic laboratory.
 
Both Sea Gulls will be nominated for CSC Academic All-America consideration, advancing to a national ballot voted upon by CSC members. Three teams' worth of honorees will be announced on June 17th.
