ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's soccer team fell in its first game of 2025 in the Seahawk Classic to The College of New Jersey Lions by a score of 4-1 under the lights at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
The Lions found the back of the net in the first two minutes and then followed up with another goal a minute later to jump out to a 2-0 lead.
Before the end of the first half, TCNJ upped its lead to three with a tally in the 32nd minute.
After a 67th-minute marker from the Lions, the Sea Gulls responded five minutes later as
Samantha Root sent in a crosser that took a deflection and found its way in front of
Skylar Williams, who capitalized on the chance in her first game as a Sea Gull to make it 4-1.
GAME NOTES
- Skylar Williams netted her first career goal in her first outing for the maroon and gold and put two of her three shots on goal.
- Katie Knapp made her first career start in net for the Sea Gulls, making three saves in 45 minutes.
- Hayle Foreman made five saves in the second half.
Salisbury will close out their time at the Seahawk Classic on Saturday against the Neumann Knights. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium.
