Second-half surge fuels Women’s Soccer past Neumann

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's soccer program soared to its first win of the 2025 campaign, taking down Neumann University 4-0 Saturday afternoon inside Jamie L. Roberts Stadium on the campus of St. Mary's College.

The Sea Gulls generated 14 of the first 16 shots in the first half, eventually breaking the ice in the 40th minute when Brooke Spadin caught up to an Alex Jankowski through-ball and sent a firecracker just underneath the crossbar to give the Gulls the lead heading into the break.

The flurry of chances continued in the second half for the maroon and gold as Ryan Tursellino scored following a shot on goal by Skylar Williams four minutes into the second half.

In the 73rd minute, a give-and-go between Jordan Edwards and Ava Wheeler ended up on the left foot for Edwards to strike into the back of the net. Twelve minutes later, Wheeler took a try on net that was saved, but Maya Avery picked up the loose change to put the cherry on top of a dominant performance for the Sea Gulls.
