Field Hockey – 2nd | Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll, Sept. 9
Salisbury moved up from third to second with 472 points and one first-place vote, trailing only top-ranked Middlebury (497) and ahead of a resurgent Babson (443). Christopher Newport and Williams slotted fourth and fifth, respectively, while former No. 2 Tufts slid to seventh.
The Sea Gulls improved to 3-0 by pitching a pair of shutouts on the road during the week, besting Washington College 1-0 on Wednesday behind an OT goal by
McKenna Horner and bashing then-No. 9 Messiah 4-0 on Saturday.
Kelly Davis made seven saves across her two clean sheets in goal, earning State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week laurels.
SU faces another top-10 foe on the road in No. 6 Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, followed by its first of four straight at home against St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Salisbury improved on its preseason vote total by picking up 425 points, well ahead of ninth-ranked UW-La Crosse (395) and just behind seventh-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor (442).
The Sea Gulls scored touchdowns on each of their first four possessions en route to a 42-21 romp of Washington & Lee in Saturday's season opener. Quarterback
SyRus McGowan generated 340 yards of offense with four TDs (two rush, two pass), while
Daniel Clark and
Dario Belizaire teamed up for 201 receiving yards and found the endzone once each.
SU will stay on the road to call upon in-state rival McDaniel on Saturday. Kickoff from Westminster, Md., is set for 2 p.m.
Volleyball – RV | AVCA/TARAFLEX Division III Poll, Sept. 9
Salisbury continued receiving votes, clocking in with 18 and sandwiched between Denison (19) and Gettysburg (17).
The Sea Gulls posted another 2-1 mark over the weekend, wrapping up their season-opening homestand with a 4-2 record. SU outfoxed Tufts 3-1 on Friday, then on Saturday the Jumbos eked out a 3-2 win in a rematch, while Salisbury rebounded to sweep Gettysburg 3-0.
Kiley McTaggart (48 kills, .280) was recognized as Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Offensive Player of the Week, the second straight Sea Gull to win it.
SU packs its bags for the first time this season, heading up to Scranton, Pa. for a Friday-Saturday tri-match against Cortland, Scranton, and Middlebury.
