Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | Andrew Barbieri

Brunetti’s late goal lifts Men’s Soccer past St. Mary’s

ST MARY'S CITY, Md. Dale Gordon made a run down the wing and sent a crosser onto the left foot of David Brunetti, who sent a strike into the top right corner to give Sea Gulls (4-3-2) a 1-0 victory against the St. Mary's College of Maryland Seahawks (3-5-1) on Wednesday inside Jaime L. Roberts Stadium.

Both teams posted three shots in the first session. SU knocked on the door in the last 10 minutes with shots on goal from Conor Moran, Liam Pierce and David Peters that were all denied to keep the game scoreless going into the break.

The Sea Gulls outpaced St Mary's during the second half with 13 shots to the Seahawks' six. Will Noble handled the opportunities from the Seahawks while the game stayed deadlocked, making four saves.

After Brunetti's goal, the Gulls withstood the push from the Seahawks to seal the win.
