PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Salisbury University men's soccer team handed No. 24 Carnegie Mellon its first loss of the season on Saturday, defeating the Tartans 4-1 at the CMU Soccer Field.
David Brunetti picked up where he left off by breaking the ice off a feed from
Aaron Glikin in the sixth minute. The Sea Gulls bookended the first half with just over a minute to go when
Connor Piles located
David Peters to double the SU lead.
Glikin took his turn at finding the onion bag courtesy of
Gavin Miller in the opening minutes of the second session to increase the maroon and gold's lead.
Carnegie Mellon responded immediately after by earning a PK; however,
Nate Jones denied the attempt to preserve the three-goal lead. But in the 55th minute, the Tartans would beat Jones to get on the board.
Salisbury drew a PK of their own in the 60th minute. Brunetti stepped up to the dot and capitalized to put the match out of reach.
